Sylvie Naar, PhD, is Professor and Director of the Division of Behavioral Sciences in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences at Wayne State University. She conducts research on the use of MI and MI integrated with CBT to improve health behaviors for many populations. She also studies how best to teach MI and how to implement the approach within organizations. With over 100 publications, Dr. Naar is coauthor of Motivational Interviewing with Adolescents and Young Adults. She is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and has provided training locally, nationally, and internationally. Steven A. Safren, PhD, ABPP, is Professor of Psychology at the University of Miami. Previously, he was Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Director of Behavioral Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). He is a past editor of Cognitive and Behavioral Practice and an associate editor of the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology. Jody Mitic is a former Canadian soldier who lost both lower legs when he stepped on a land mine in Afghanistan. I learned about him, and his book, when I heard him interviewed on Jocko Willink's podcast. (Willink is a former US Navy SEAL.) The stories about his background and his military career are very interesting, but the story about his recovery after being wounded (and having to break an addiction to painkillers) is riveting. Excellent read.

Learned of this book through Trailer Park Boys interestingly enough.. Read the book and was captivated. Just an all around great read for anyone interested in military life. Jody is a very interesting person. Now currently listen to his Podcast and follow him on all social media! Highly recommend!

Good book, takes you into the military warrior's mind set/thinking, day to day life in the military and how they don't give up through family pressures, training, deployment, crazy orders, set backs, or otherwise...sometimes they would like too but they find a way. These kinds of men are truly the best of society on many levels. The book isn't a treatise or anything like that, it's just more of Jody's take on the making of a Canadian Sniper, just what the title says. I enjoyed it...and very much appreciated Jody's sacrifice and honor.

Wonderful story about a real Canadian soldier. We'll written, engaging and real. It is a study of individual courage and initiative in a tough situation. It depicts the professionalism of the Canadian Army in a realistic and non-gung ho manner. Canada should be proud.

the bulk of the book is about his fighting time which is what appealed to me & it just barely mentioned that he went into politics after his tragic injury

A fantastic read which gives a soldiers perspective of a military career and what happens after being wounded. Jody is someone whom we can all learn from.

I bought this for a friend's grandson after he was involved in a serious car crash. I read it and found it to be very inspiring.

I adore the way that Sarah Eden is able to make the characters come so alive. We care about not only the main characters, but also secondary characters. Dialogue is always well written, flows smoothly, and often very playful and humorous. I enjoyed this Savage Wells book just as much as the first, and look forward to her revisiting it again in the future... Right, Ms. Eden? Please? Hawk? Tansey? Andrew?! :)

The book has romance, medicine, mental health, women's rights and many other issues that are very much a part of real life. Sarah Eden balances them all and comes out with a winner. It's not a light read, and yet it ends with happiness for the "good guys" (and women too, of course!). :D)

Healing Hearts was such an amazing story. I couldn't put it down. I honestly loved every single thing about it. It was such an enjoyable read, with lovable characters and with a sweet message of how no one is worthless. It was also so great seeing characters from her other book, the Sheriffs of Savage Wells. It's a great addition to my growing collection.

As a person with epilepsy, I have never really read a book that hit this close to home for me, in regards to seizures and the struggles in life that it can all create.It was of course a sappy if not slightly cheesy old-western romance, but I love that. I would like to read a continued story about these characters, intertwined with the stories about other in the town.It is a nice relief to read a book that is not littered with sexual innuendos and bad language.Thank you for a great read.

This book made me really grateful for modern medicine. Sarah did a wonderful job of taking you right to this beautiful 19th century Wyoming and loving it! I fell in love with Gideon again and Miriam was a strong female character that I grew to love and truly appreciate! Read this book! It is a lovely one!

I am very busy and have many things demanding my attention. I usually read stories piece meal because of it, but I spent the whole day reading and finishing this book. It pulled me in within the first chapter and never let go! The characters are real and the story flow naturally. I also appreciate the research that Sarah Eden put into this story. My daughter suffers from the same ailment as the main character and she really did her research to make it authentic! Nicely done!

This is a tale of intrigue, redemption, the strength of abiding love and of hope. As usual Sarah M. Eden has accomplished what she set out to do. To tell a story that reaches to the depth of a woman’s heart and to anyone who has suffered the cruelty and injustice of life’s many trials and tribulations. Some of the best moments you can put aside to enjoy and live the experiences of a courageous and endearing heroin, is well worth your effort!

I love Savage Wells and the people there. I love all their personalities and how they fight for one of their own. Add Miriam into the mix and it makes the town even better. She had her work cut out for her, winning over the townspeople after leaving their beloved Gideon at the alter, but she did it in the best possible way. This story also showed what it was like for those in the early medical field and how far we have come in learning and developing in both opinions as well as medical means. It is a fascinating story that will leave you turning the pages to find out what happens next and how Gideon and Miriam will make things work. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

All about big party plans and a toddler tantrum - a bit meta to read to my own tantruming toddler, but love this book and its illustrations. A classic from my own childhood. This one's messages are timeless.

Berenstain Bears books always have good stories. They are appropriate for First Graders as far as difficulty. Papa, Brother, and Sister Bear are in the woods cutting down a tree. A discussion of tree rings leads to the planning of Sister's birthday party. Of course, the Bears overdo it with decorations and the entertainment. Sister Bear doesn't enjoy herself at the party. As with all Berenstain Bears books, there is a lesson to be learned in the end. There are also two pages of birthday stickers with the Bear family preparing for the party included in the book. My son and I enjoyed reading it together. I would recommend it!

My bratty soon to be 4yr old loves this book ☺️

This classic from my childhood still makes me smile. Today's parents may be surprised to see that it includes spin the bottle at a six-year-old's party! But other than that, it retains its lessons about overwhelm.

My daughter always loved biscuit books, but now as she is getting older, her new favorite is Bernstein bear books. Which makes me happy, these were a favorite of mine when i was a child also so I really enjoy our special time reading these books together. Right now "Too much junk food" is her favorite one. Can't go wrong with these books.

My kids and now grand-kids have always been big Berenstain Bears fans.

We are working on getting the whole Berenstain Bears collection, and this has been a favorite so far. My son requests it for bedtime a couple of times a week.
