I'm actually a fan of the Atkins diet because I lost 50 pounds with it! This e-book is decent. I recommend buying this book if you're *interested* in the Atkins diet. This book will tell you the basics (plus a little more). If you decide Atkins is for you (to try), you'll want to buy the "New Atkins" book. This is a decent "Quick Start", but that's all it is meant to be.Good luck on your weight loss, diabetes control, or healthier eating habits! What will really make you successful is if you throw out (most) of what the USDA & FDA recommends you eat. Ignore the (bad) advice from doctors about cholesterol and saturated fats. I ate more saturated fats & eggs (cholesterol) than I ever have in my life, and my HDL/LDL/Triglycerides & Glucose numbers *all* improved. (If you believe mainstream nutritionists, there's no way my numbers could have improved.)Disclaimer: I write many reviews, and some (like this) are discounted in exchange for an honest review. I rated fairly irrespective of discount.
This book is a short, quick-start summary of the Atkins diet program. You get a sample one-week menu plan. It gives you the basics of the eating program and some of the reasons why it could work for you. The ad promised 50 low-carb recipes as well, and I didn't get those. The book could have benefited from a good proofreader as well. I got this book at a discount in exchange for my honest review. I've tried the Atkins program and it definitely worked for me in the past. My blood sugar, triglycerides, and cholesterol readings all improved significantly, but I couldn't stick to it longer than two or three months. When I went off the program, I gained all the weight back quickly. You pretty much have to make it a way of life if you want to make this work for you.
This is not a bad book if you are only wanting an overview of the Atkin's Diet, there is not a whole lot more you could expect from 20 pages. If you are wanting to learn about Atkin's Diet for research or before you dive in this is a good resource, however it does not touch on everything. The 7 day meal plan is just that a meal plan there are no recipes that go along with it. An OK book but I would have been highly disappointed had I paid $3 for it.Disclaimer: I was provided a sample of this product in exchange for a fair and honest review. After having my second child, I'm finding out that the baby weight is just not coming off as easily as it used to. So it's no surprise that my New Year's resolution was to really focus on losing the baby weight. I'm was interested in the Atkins diet as I am a super picky eater and it seemed like the plan I'd be able to enjoy the most. This book gave a great overview of how and why the diet works, it's additional health benefits and offers a sample meal plan to get you started. I thought it would be longer or have some fun recipe ideas, but if you are interested in this type of diet, it has great information to help you decide if it will work for you.*I received this book for free or at a discount in return for my honest review. I think this book is a great way to get the basics and serve as a jumping off point.
Well written guidebook for anyone considering following the Atkins diet, or looking for some help in developing a usable meal plan.Enclosed you'll find helpful information on the various phases of the Atkins diet or "lifestyle", health/body changes to expect as you transition, tips on following the diet the correct way, and suggested menu plans. There's a strong emphasis on following Atkins in a healthy manner: slow transitions rather than abrupt diet changes; why carbs shouldn't be eliminated and how to focus on the right kind carbs; and more.This product was provided at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.
Overall this book is a great read, its short sweet and to the point. My husband and I have done Atkins in the past we were successful I lost 70lbs and he lost 40lbs which helped us get pregnant and we had our one and only child together. But once I became pregnant I feel off the wagon and induldge in carbs BIG time. Now my daughter is 2.5 yrs old and I am finally ready to go back to Atkins weve tried a couple other diets here and there but this one works best for us. Order this book and it was just as advertised. This product offered a variety or recipes that were simple enough to make and didn't require too many ingredients. The instructions were easy enough to follow that I was able to successfully make my first meal from it with my limited cooking background. The product was delivered to my Kindle instantly. I haven't fully committed to the Atkins diet so I can not attest to the weight loss aspect of it but I am looking at changing my diet some and cutting several things out of my diet and the many options this book gives me will help with that drastically. I would recommend the book and buyer to all users.
I really enjoyed this book. The layout actually makes sense, with the chapters progressing in a way that make it a true starter's guide. Background information is given about the diet and how it works to help you lose weight. The food lists are very helpful. The menu plan my favorite part of this book. The menu sounds really good to me, and is definitely something I can see myself following. Overall, if you want to start Atkins, I recommend reading through this book. It is helpful and much less intimidating than the books you'll find at the library or book store.I received this book for free in exchange for writing this honest review.
