Or how about those who are sitting in wheelchairs, unable to feed themselves, who nonetheless always have something cheerful to say and are never heard to blame their circumstances? If so, don’t worry. These people have discovered a secret, but it’s a secret that belongs to you as much as it belongs to them. It’s this: happiness is not something you are bequeathed at birth, like wealth or poverty; it is not something you earn through hard work, like a college education; and it is not something given to you because of your dialect or skin color. At first I was skeptical. All the early stories had a “happy ending” and we all know that not all stories end happily—at least as far as this earthly end is concerned. Eventually, other stories surfaced that didn’t have the happy ending on this earth, but still demonstrated God’s presence and attention and encouragement even when all doesn’t end well.

This book explains in layman terms what has been happening most of my life. So glad to know so many others are just as fortunate!!

Godwink series changed my perception of life. Understanding how blessed we are when God provides the directions to our lives helps me focus on all of His gifts in my life.I feel blessed to have discovered this series and find myself reading and rereading many of these stories as I best understand how life can work if one is open and appreciative of these gifts from God.

Last year, I purchased this book after reading a separate book my cousin sent me after my mom passed away. Over time, I started to get more of them. This book made such a big impact on me which although I lent it to someone & I didn't receive it back I obviously bought another one. The thing about buying it although you would think of it as out of impulse I never thought twice when I did.There are truly moments from your life which causes you to reflect seriously on situations from your life.

HOW MANY TIMES MAY I WRITE LOVE HERE? LOL 😂BEST BOOK EVER ASIDE OF COURSE, FROM THE BIBLE!

This is a very good book. I read one story each night it’s so inspiring. I would highly recommend it.

You will not be able to put this book down. Very inspirational and you will feel better and notice thing in you own life after reading it. There are other stories in a series of book by this author. After reading this book I purchased 2 others and liked them just as much.

I recently bought Pokemon White and decided that I would try a strategy guide for the game. Well when I got paid next, I decided to buy Pokemon Diamond and the game store I purchased it at did not have this strategy guide to go with it. So my next stop was Amazon. I found this book no problem and at a great price too. The book includes a step by step walkthrough and little hints on how to beat certain gym leaders and find items left behind by people in the forests and caves. The Pokemon Black and White strategy guide came with a complete pokedex but this book did not. It has quite a few pokemon listed but not all that are in the game. And for that, I docked off a star. It is still a great book and I definitely recommend it especially for first-time players.

Poor excuse for a guide. Won't be buying anymore Prima guides. The guide doesn't include anywhere close to how/where to find all items and pokemon. The biggest flaw of the book is that the guide is very disorganized. If your looking for a step by step walk-through, dont buy this book. It also does NOT include a Pokedex. You'll have to buy a similarly disappointing book for that. I'll be sticking with bulbapedia from now on. When I want to look at a guide, I want it to tell me every aspect of a game... IN ORDER.

My son loves to play Pokemon and says that these official guides are the only way to get the most out of the game. He claims that you can't play it well without it and he loves them. We have all the different books for the different versions and he said it is worth every penny.

These Prima guides are must-haves for any Pokemon fan. I purchased this as a gift for my 7 yr old granddaughter. Having several of these guides myself, I know that except for superficial wear, a used guide still contains all of the pertinent information. Since the brand new guides are a bit pricey, I decided to take a chance on a used one for her. We were not disappointed. The condition of the book was just fine, and my g'dau was happy as a lark with it, and didn't care one bit that it was "previously owned".

I am very disappointed with the quality of this strategy guide. It does not explain how to do anything after beating the elite 4 (the pokemon champions that you battle after collecting all of the badges). There are so many different legendaries to catch. Other prima guides eg. those for pokemon ruby and sapphire, were much more complete. They explained everything, start to finish, even the different activities to do after beating the elite 4. The pokedex section is incomplete. This book is just a gimmick to get you to buy volume 2 (the pokedex) as it even says inside that there will be 8 more pokemon in the official pokedex (the 8 that are missing probably). I hope that in future the prima guides will be as good as the one for pokemon ruby and sapphire, because if the rest are as bad as this one there is no point of buying a strategy guide; you can just get free walkthroughs on the internet that explain more than this guide.

I use it all the time. It's great. This book has been a great help. Thank you, so much. I also have Volume 2- The Complete Pokedex Edition. I like to use these in tandem. If you really want to truly get every Pokémon and every in-game item, I highly suggest you buy both of these. I know you can obtain lots of other items thru other means or devices. I have already done that. I just don't want people to see this and say "You know that you can get other items which aren't in the game, right?" I know. I have an Action Replay. Sad to say, but I don't really care.

I am not a fan of these games myself. However this was purchased as a gift for someone and they have really enjoyed the game.

This was one of the most helpful books I've read, because the author is knowledgeable about scripture AND law as they pertain to same-sex relationships, and yet the book is highly readable. I found it very helpful.

This is a marvelously written and thoughtful work that should be given careful study. I am greatly helped by thorough analysis of the legal and spiritual issues.

I read this book as part of a seminary class and throughly enjoyed it for a variety of reasons. Books regarding same sex relationships often fragment the issues by only including information from one perspective. Some examine the issues from a religious perspective, while others approach it from a legal or political view. William Stacy Johnson's background and education as a lawyer and theologian empower him to overcome this fractured topic by masterfully weaving together elements of religion, law, and politics in A Time to Embrace (2nd edition). Johnson offers his readers much fresh insight into this oft-debated topic, but he does so with both courage and grace, things often mutually exclusive in the vitriolic atmosphere surrounding this subject. This was especially important in a seminary classroom containing a host of views on the topic. In his second addition, he gives a stronger preface and conclusion and updates his book to reflect the current laws in the United States.This book serves as a great read for veterans and novices of the subject alike. Stacy Johnson is a faithful churchman, accomplished scholar, and seasoned teacher and lawyer. We must tune in to what he has to say.

Grace for the Moment is a great devotional book for kids 6-10 years old. The daily devotionals are broken up to include a bible verse to reflect on, a few short paragraphs about what the verse means and relates it easily for a kid to understand, and finishes with a "Growing in Grace" paragraph that guides a kid to use the verse with an application to their life. This is definitely not a quick devotional you can mark off a checklist for kids - this is a more in depth look at verses for kids and geared towards kids who are getting more mentally mature. If your kid can't quite sit still through a chapter in a short chapter book, you may want to hold off introducing this until they're a little older.The book breaks down bible verses into digestible pieces for kids to take in. I really enjoyed the application portions of each devotional. Instead of simply telling kids to just "think about this or that" or "draw this picture and play a game with mom and dad", this book encourages kids to pray to God for themselves and others, challenges them to look up more than just the single verse noted in the devotional, and even encourages them to journal their thoughts for the week. As an example, for the devotional regarding Psalm 34:17 ("The Lord hears good people when they cry out to him. He saves them from all their troubles."), the "Growing in Grace" challenge is to keep a journal for a week and write down all the ways Jesus says "I love you" (From the sunrise painted for you, to the air you breathe, to the stars in the sky," and so forth). Another devotional (Matthew 22:37 - "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind") challenged my kids to not only think about themselves (how do you want people to describe you), then what they thought about Jesus (think of words that you think describe Jesus). From there, it then challenged my kids to try to live so that people will say the same words them as they said about Jesus. There are 365 days of teachable moments in this bookFor kids who are already starting to read the bible themselves, the book ends with two reading plans - one is a 30 day plan about Jesus, the second is a 90 day plan into the bible. Overall, our family found this book to be incredibly helpful and uplifting, and is a good companion for kids who are beginning to deepen their faith.

This has been a great devotional to read with my five year old. The only down side is there are no pictures. I would like to see some pictures in the book to keep a young child more interested. Overall the content of the book is spot on and not to long to bore a child. Love this daily devotional for a five year old!

My kids and I LOVE this devotional! In fact, my kids make sure we do not miss a day and it is something they look forward to doing every night together. Because I bought the book during the course of the year and do not have my children with me every night, I started at the beginning of the book and are going through it day by day ignoring the dates on the pages. I really like how Max Lucado pairs a bible verse with real life situations looking at things from a child's perspective and making it something they can understand. It is beautifully written that it will even make an adult think. This book has also opened up some great conversations regarding faith, life and lessons learned between my children (ages 10 and 7) and myself that may not have otherwise happened. Do not hesitate to purchase this book, you will be glad that you did!

Great book for short, to-the-point devotions for the whole family. Our kids, ages 8 and 11, are able to grasp the concepts quickly and easily. I love the included ribbon bookmark to help keep track of where you are each day! Each page offers a Bible passage, a paragraph or two explaining the scripture in real-world examples and words, then a few discussion questions. I do wish the devotions were just a little bit more in-depth, since sometimes it feels like the devotion is over before the kids have even had a chance to grasp what it's about. But the discussions are thoughtful and appropriate for kids, and it has inspired some GREAT discussions over the dinner table! Serves as a perfect jumping-off point for daily conversations about Biblical principles. Would recommend this as a great daily devotional book for a busy family.

I am quite impressed with this devotional. I read it with my daughter each morning. The little Growing in Grace section at the end gives kids great little ways to apply what they learn. The readings are short & very applicable for kids. I like that Max Lucado is biblically right on and has a way of breaking things down to a kid's level without ever talking down to them. If you are looking for a good devotional for your grade school kids, this is an excellent choice. It often speaks to me as well. But that is how God's truth works!

This is a fantastic devotion book for the family. It now sits on our dining room table and the kids ask to read it at almost every meal. Each page is a devotion for a calendar day in the year. They are short and concise, which is great for kids (and others...lets me honest here). The last paragraph also has a practical application for each day, which is sometimes a bit intensive for our young family but good nonetheless.Our oldest child is only 3 years old, and these devotions are meant for older kids, but it is not hard to adjust the wording or make it a bit more relevant to a 3 year old's life. We'll throw in examples from the day or her bother's name when it talks about being called to forgive (shameless parenting plug).The topics of each devotion are not just the simple dealings, but get into real life, and sometimes difficult, questions for kids to wrestle with. I would guess that we will be using this devotion book for years and years to come. I highly recommend it for families, especially to develop good meal conversation.
