After dragging my feet for quite some time, I finally caved in and ordered this book for several of our students. I run a successful ACT test prep company and we have always stuck to official ACTs for all practice -- mainly The Real ACT (CD) 3rd Edition (Real Act Prep Guide) our own product, Boost Your Score! The Unofficial Software Guide to the Real ACT, and other materials purchased directly from the ACT company. We have been finding, however, that some of our students still need even more practice. I've gone through most of the other books out there (Kaplan, other Princeton Review books, Barrons, etc.) and I've been unimpressed, particularly when it comes to science and reading passages. I simply do not feel that those books do an adequate job of simulating actual ACT questions. This book, on the other hand, is excellent. Questions very closely mimic those on official ACTs, answer explanations are clear, and questions are sorted by subject for students who need extra practice in a particular area. Great job, Princeton Review!

Best part of this test book? My daughter's practice test scores ranged between 26-28, which gave her motivation to study harder, because she knew she had to get a high score in order to be competitive in applying to her college of choice. When the test finally came, her scores ranged between 30-34, with an overall score of 33.

In prepping students for the ACT, I have found that many of them need lots of supplementary work, of the drill and practice variety. I have also found that these students benefit from working on real ACT-type questions under time constraints, similar to an actual ACT test.1,296 ACT Practice Questions is one of the best books on the market to meet this need for supplementary practice. The Reading passages and Science passages are well-written and fit the criteria of ACT-style passages and questions. The answers are also detailed and the explanations are easy to understand. I'd definitely recommend this book for supplementary practice in preparation for the ACT.

This book is so fantastic! I wasn't sure what to expect because there wasn't as much information or reviews as I'm used to. I was very uneasy about this purchase. Wow, I really wasted my time. This book is amazing! The 400+ pages are full of ACT questions and answers (short listed and explained) As of yet, I have not seen any "tips or tricks" just cold-hard practice tests (and solid, detailed instruction in the answers section). The pages are NOT made of regular book paper (which may be a turn-off for some...the pages aren't white or laminated. They are kind of light brown and a tiny bit "scratchy" but nothing to complain about). You can put your answers on a different paper and take the tests over and over again (Which is quite nice).I have not fully examined all of this book, (I only got it this morning) but what I have experienced far-exceeds my expectations. There are four tests for each section (plus writing and essays). And like I mentioned before, there are short listed answers (1:a, 2:d, 3:e ect) and DETAILED long answers (1:a because you're trying to find x, you must first...) it is such a wonderful aspect! I am so thrilled with this and feel that if I study from it often, I'll get a good score on my ACT. Again, DO NOT hesitate.

I am a professional tutor who specializes in teaching the standardized tests for college and graduate school entrance. I focus primarily on the ACT and the SAT. This book is perfect for practicing the techniques and material for the ACT. It doesn't have any test prep information in it. There are other books that have that type of test prep information in them. This just has the questions and answer explanations. Princeton Review probably does the best job of recreating the question types that are on the actual ACT as any of the test prep companies on the market. I would advise that one purchase this book in conjunction to another book that teaches the actual techniques to get a solid amount of information and preparation for the ACT.

Bought this for a friend who is studying to take the ACT - having no full high school education (homeschool only til 10th grade), it has helped her tremendously to prepare for this test. She is improving with each practice test she does, no doubt.

The only way to prepare for ACT is practicing, which you can find in this book. Plenty of questions, real ACT tests... Make sure you use your time wisely.

Better to buy the new one with more questions - these are NOT actual ACT questions, and tend to be a little harder. But since there are only 5 actual tests on the market, students need more prep materials.

 When my late son was a little boy, he loved TMNTs. When I would read to him at bedtime and later, when he was reading to himself, he would invariably choose one of the TMNTs comic books. Because I was the type of parent who got involved with what my kids read and watched, I also became a big fan. When I saw that an adult coloring book was available, I bought it immediately. My grandson is now getting into TMNTs and I will love coloring this book to give to him. I'm getting a second copy to hold onto for him to color in when he gets a little bit older as well.The coloring book has 47 pages of designs (not including the title page which can also be colored.) It appears like the designs have been done by a group of artists as there are several distinct styles from clean, black lines to an almost pointillism, old-style comic book dot style. The designs are fun and easy to color but some have a lot of black accents. The designs are of both the old-style and the newer style TMNTs.Another fun part of the book is that on the back of the preceding page (directly opposite the design) is a quote that meshes great with the design you are coloring. After coloring in this book, all I can say is Cowabunga!This is what I found while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring mediums. I will list the coloring mediums I used for testing in the comments section below. These are also the materials I use for most of my coloring.47 Designs (plus title page) of TMNTs funPrinted on one side of the page with a quote on the back of the pagePaper is heavyweight, white, slightly rough, non-perforatedGlue BoundMost designs merge into the binding areaBook opens fairly flat for coloring by breaking or creasing the spine heavily.Alcohol-based markers bleed through the paper. I suggest using a blotter page of card stock or several sheets of paper to keep ink from seeping through to the pages below.Water-based markers, gel pens, and India ink pens do not bleed through the paper.Colored pencils work very well with this paper. I got great pigment from oil and wax base pencils. I was able to layer the same color for deeper pigment, layer multiple colors, and blend easily using a pencil style stick blender.

I have been a fan of TMNT pretty much my entire life. When I saw this book, I had to order it. The paper is decent quality, holding up even to Crayola markers with minimal shadowing on the reverse side. There's a good mix of art styles and patterns. The only reason this book loses a star is because of the binding. The glue is rather weak. Pages are already coming out. I've tried to reattach them with a glue stick and hope. I would gladly purchase this book again if it were re-issued with a sewn binding.

I bought this coloring book for a friend who loves the TMNTs and now upon seeing the coloring book I have decided that I really need this one for myself!The pages are technically single sided. I say technically because on the back side there are a few words to tell you about the next page to color, but that is it. The paper is a good thickness and if you don't mind chancing bleed through to ruin the side with the words I think you could use marker on the pages. However, I would still put a page between the two just in case you use a heavier bleed through marker - such as a sharpie.The pictures to color take up the entire page. And they all differ. Some of them have a bit more of a blurry quality to the lines, while others have lines that are much more crisp. You can also tell that there is a good mixture between the newer Turtles and the older Turtles portrayed in this coloring book.All in all, this is a great coloring book!!

It has all the different series of turtles beginning with the comics all the way to the current lame Nickelodeon ones. It's pretty fun to color them.

My boyfriend loves TMNT, and ESPECIALLY the old-school style that he grew up with. He likes coloring to calm himself down so when I got him this book, he thought it was totally radical. The illustrations are sharp, accurate, and easy to color.

Book falls apart. Pages fall out. Replaced two books and both books pages fall out. Awesome thick paper. Illustrations are great! The only down fall is the book falls apart. I have a few other books from this maker and they don't fall apart. Just this ninja turtles one.

The old school images are great but they also have images in there that are not old school and I mean old school by the cartoon series from the late 80s to early 90s anything above that it's not old school

I bought this for my husband he loved it. The only problem was that it is not completely old school. There are some with new turtles in it.

I have almost all of Mr. Peck's books in my personal library. He is my favorite YA author, and I have given away more copies of "A Long Way From Chicago" and "A Year Down Yonder" than I can remember a number! Being a MS English teacher, I relished the insight Mr. Peck gives about teaching and writing in this book. What a wonderful resource! The "Seven Do's and Don't's" and "Ten Questions" are language arts "gold."

I appreciated the rental, but the book was awful to try to read and decipher. Felt like there could have been better explanations. At least the rental was easy to do.

yeah....It is probably okay on the econ side but for org theory...meh. My undergrad classes used better books...Bored me to tears and I can't find the online interactive version for practice quizzes, etc.

The text needs to walk you through more actual problems.

My Economics professor assigned this book for his course. I did not find this book useful for me as I have had no prior economics education prior to this MBA course. The graphs and equations were less than helpful, the book read more like a novel than an instructional textbook to help me learn. I ended up purchasing additional economics books and watching YouTube videos to understand the concepts from this textbook.

I had to buy this for class. We barely used the book because my professor liked another book better but this one was required.

The text was an okay read. I used this book for my managerial economics course two semesters ago and I enjoyed it. Stopped reading about halfway through because it got boring after a while. But over all it was a pretty helpful text.

Massimo Bottura is the chef patron of Osteria Francescana, a three Michelin star restaurant based in Modena, Italy. Massimo grew up in Modena and developed an interest in cooking from a young age after watching his mother, grandmother and aunt in the kitchen preparing family meals. In 1986 he left a law degree to open his first restaurant and subsequently went on to develop his love of food with stages for Alain Ducasse at Louis XV in Monte Carlo and Ferran Adriá at elbulli. I bought this book for my bf, who is a cook. He is loving it, he says is amazing, and very inpirational. He reads it over and over again. I must say it probably is a amazing book for anyone who loves cooking, but understands that this book gives away a lot of recipes that you won't be able to cook at home, but this could just inspire you to cook with love and passion

I love this book. It's best read as an exploration of Massimo's philosophy behind different tasting dinners and less an instructional manual on recreating dishes from his restaurant. One does need some advanced equipment and ingredients (sous vide, chamber vacuum, NO2 foamer, etc.) to pull off many of the dishes.

This book is gorgeous with imaginative recipes. This book is not for the average home cook, but for those who are inclined to take up the challenge of cooking like a professional. The recipes do require some special equipment, and ingredients, but if you are up to challenge, they are delicious.

A very well written and engaging book. Bottura mixes regional history with the tale of his Osteria Francescana, as well as with personal vignettes. I have been honored to eat at his restaurant twice, and after reading his book, I can not wait to return to it. This handsomely illustrated monograph is a must for all lovers of innovative cooking. Bravo, Chef Bottura!

He is obviously a good chef but this book is more about him. If you are interested in how he thinks, go for it. If you want to create his food, buy a magnifying glass because the recipes are all in the back of the book in very very small print!! Creators obviously didn’t think Cooking was important to the reader.

I don't know who this book is for. The author maybe, as it's a gigantic ego trip. The recipes are in the back printed in 2 pt type, so clearly nobody expects you to actually follow them. Even if you could substitute ingredients for the hundreds of those you could never find. I used to have a lot of respect for Mossimo. But this genuflection to self is more than slightly irritating.

First I must say after 15 years as a professional chef and having read hundreds of books, THIS is one that is so fascinating I had to write my first review. I had the experience of eating this man's food last summer at his restaurant in Modena. The bread was by far the best I've ever tasted, far better than even chef Joel Robuchon's which speaks volumes. Moving into dinner, I was not prepared for the meal to come. Some courses were revolutionary, life changing really. Others were confusing and left me questioning the chef's motives. If I had only read this book first I am certain it would have been a different experience. That's what this book does. It goes into detail, the conceptualizing and philosophy being every dish. I've never read a book that is all about the ideology first with the recipes to follow. It's an exceptionally refreshing way to read a cookbook. I've relished having something like this. To look at how this man goes about the creative process. I'll admit, at first I sceptical. Could he really have taken all of these inspirations to create these dishes? Or, did he simply dig for stories to support their creation. I believe the first. You either believe in Massimo completely or simply not at all. That being said, yes these recipes are extrodinarlily creative and some call for devices such as a rotary evaporator, etc. Not to mention the ingredients indigenous to his homeland of Modena Italy he is able to procure. He was doing so many things that later began trending in NYC and the rest of the world. Simply put, if you're interested in how an artistic chef goes about creating dishes, look no further. Thank you Massimo for your work! To all you chef's out there, BUY THIS BOOK!
