This was better than I thought. I'm honestly not a big fan of adventure and all that, and would have much preferred a direct continuation of the Origin series following some of our favorite characters. This however, is an excellent opening after what I guess can be considered a "timeskip." This book can be taken 2 ways in my opinion. 1: An introduction to the Star Force series for people who haven't read the entirety or even any of the Origin series. 2: A set up story that allows those of us who 'have' read the Origin series to skip a lot of what most likely would be exposition anyway (i.e. constant losing battles as Star Force withdraws and evacuates. Content we don't 'really' need to see all that much. Though I can see some potential for a future side-story covering some of the potential major events and how the main characters dealt with it all.), and continue exploring and reading the Star Force universe in a new style of writing (novel, rather than episodic.)I just hope we'll get back to following some of our favorite characters again in coming installments.. Following characters like this is one thing, but when you've read the Origin series and know about all the potential abilities, skills, tech and most importantly, the various characters out there.. It makes you want 'more'. I'd much rather follow the story or even stories of some of the bigger characters in the universe at this point. Everything else just seems so..small and insignificant, even though a lot of the time it isn't, when you're reading it, it can be.Anyway, thanks for great read. I'm just happy to get my Star Force fix after what feels like such a long time, even though it's barely been a few months since the finish of the Origin series for me. I hope other readers enjoy it as much as I did, especially any new additions. Those who haven't read the Origin series may even enjoy it more than I did to be honest, and I hope it pushes them to read the rest.

A decent read but not great. Technical errors abound and need a good line editor to sort them out. Not just proof reading errors, but narrative that is often jarring with extraneous words and lines that just need to read smoother. I liked the characters and the story and the writing for the most part is good. My biggest problem was narrative that often went in circles and was largely superfluous. The entire book would have been better served as the first half of the second book. There's a few things I assume about the author by reading this book. He's a vegan, likes to run (because he talks about running a lot. Like it was written by Forrest Gump) and he likes Dragonball Z. At the end of the book, these Archons come flying in, literally. They are the second highest in power called Piccolo level. Really? He also talks about "leveling up" in dialogue, which made for some eye-rolling moments. (less)

This was a well written introduction to the Star Force series with a good story. Like a previous reviewer I did enjoy the book starting a while after where the Origin series left off. I hope it continues like that as well. The book had the author's hallmark spelling errors but after reading 100+ of these I guess I am used to it.I hope that in the next book the author does not spend so much time explaining the philosophy of Star Force. After this book a new reader should be relatively caught up, and further delving into Star Force philosophy without introducing a new development would be beating a thoroughly dead horse.

I received this ebook for free in exchange for an honest review, at least that is how I feel when I get promos for free. The first in the Lost Destiny Wayward Trilogy, Jyrs' vision really had me living and breathing next to the characters. Jyr used great story-telling to introduce his world so we could be immersed into it slowly. It was like we were being trained alongside our main character in the story to understand what the universe has become. This simple, slow way of introducing us to his universe made it much easier to become fully immersed in a very diverse alien inhabitated space. I am curious to see if this writing style will continue in Further Adventures of Star Force. I am already expecting great things from our heros in book 2. Great story, would make a great TV movie. I've got to get book number 2. I have read Star Force Origin 1-4. Again, storytelling introduced things slowly, like we are learning them, but was a very different series predating Wayward series by many many years. (I think). I will enjoy the Wayward series with its alien world pounding spaceships, and the fight for right Star Force way.

A good story. Enslen is a great story teller, but I think the book needs a proofreading and some editing to be all the good that deserves. It's a good introduction to the series, I think. Sure I'll read more of this writer.

Author is an absolutely AMAZING storyteller, but the simplest errors make it through to published works. Author defended his superiority on Goodreads without having been challenged. Will continue reading his works, but he has no humility and definitely needs to work on people skills. Also: hire a real editor. There's a reason great authors have them.

Thank you Aer-ki Jyr for this exciting adventure in the Star Force series. Not sure on the reading order. A fan!

I really like the storyline and historical development of the Star Force Series.
